Official Thomas County Jail Roster
The official Thomas County Sheriff's Office inmate roster is the main public source for adult jail inmate records. It is free and public, and no login was required during inspection. The roster is tied to Thomas County Jail, which holds municipal, State Court, and Superior Court inmates, plus state and private probationers and some outside-agency holds. Current roster counts changed from 236 to 233 during the June 4, 2026 inspection, which shows the list is live and should not be treated as a fixed daily report.
The roster is a custody tool. It helps answer whether someone is in Thomas County Jail, whether a recently released entry still appears, and what booking or bond label the jail has posted. It does not replace the Clerk's court docket, the prosecutor's charging file, GDC's sentenced-offender locator, or federal and ICE systems. The sheriff roster disclaimer also warns that an arrest does not mean conviction and that the data should not be used for legal action without verification.
Use the Thomas County Inmate Roster
The roster supports both browsing and name search. Start broad when a person may have a middle name, suffix, spelling variation, or recent release. The search page captured a single Search By Name field rather than separate first-name and last-name boxes.
- Open the sheriff roster and check the Current or Released tab based on custody status.
- Use the Name option or the roster search page to enter a first or last name.
- Use Show All when a search is too narrow, then browse pages using Next or Last.
- Open View Profile for the best match and compare age, booking number, booking date, charges, and bond.
- Call 229-225-3312 before posting bond because the profile warns charges, bail, and case numbers may change after court.
The Thomas County inmate roster page shows current entries, pagination, booking rows, charges, and bond fields.
The roster image matches the research finding that Thomas County publishes booking numbers, ages, dates, charges, bonds, and profile links in a live list.
Thomas County Roster Search Fields
Thomas County's search form is simpler than many jail systems. The captured page used one name box, Search and Show All controls, and Current or Released routing. The main roster also had name and date options plus newest-to-oldest and oldest-to-newest sort links.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Options | Tab or link group | No | Name, Date, Current, and Released appear as roster routes. |
| Sort | Link group | No | Newest to Oldest and Oldest to Newest were visible. |
| Search By Name | Text | No | One field captured with Enter first OR last name. |
| Search | Button | Not applicable | Runs the entered name search. |
| Show All | Button | Not applicable | Returns the full roster list after filtering. |
| Pagination | Link list | Not applicable | Inspected roster pages included page numbers, Next, and Last. |
Thomas County Inmate Profile Fields
A profile should be read as a jail record snapshot. The inspected sample profile showed a booking number, age, gender, race, booking date, release date, charge, bond, and a bail note. The captured text did not show height, weight, full date of birth, housing unit, arresting agency, statute code, case number, warrant number, court date, or projected release date. If a release date appears or the bond reads $0.00, confirm the meaning with the jail because those fields can reflect timing issues, holds, or court changes.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Name | The inmate name as shown by the sheriff roster. |
| Booking Number | A local jail identifier. Use it when calling jail staff because older formats can vary. |
| Age, Gender, Race | Limited demographics visible on the inspected profile. |
| Booking Date | The booking date and time recorded by the jail. |
| Release Date | A profile field that should be verified if timing affects travel, bond, or pickup. |
| Charges | Booking or hold labels, not necessarily the final court charges. |
| Bond | A displayed amount or zero value that may change after court appearances. |
Thomas County, State, and Federal Inmates
A current Thomas County arrest should usually be checked in the sheriff roster first. A sentenced felony transfer should be checked through the Georgia Department of Corrections offender search. Federal sentenced custody uses the BOP Inmate Locator. Immigration custody after transfer uses ICE ODLS. VINELink can provide custody or release notifications, but it is not the main roster for reading all Thomas County booking fields.
| Custody Type | Where to Look | Thomas County Note |
|---|---|---|
| Current adult county custody | Thomas County sheriff roster | Best first stop for jail booking and bond labels. |
| Released county jail entries | Released tab or jail records contact | Older records may require a sheriff open-records request. |
| Sentenced Georgia prison custody | GDC Find an Offender | Use after sentencing or transfer, not for a fresh arrest. |
| Federal custody | BOP Inmate Locator | No active BOP prison was found in Thomas County. |
| Immigration custody | ICE ODLS | The local roster can show HOLD FOR ICE before transfer. |
| Custody notifications | VINELink | Useful for release or transfer alerts. |
Lookup distinction: The county roster answers local jail custody questions; the court docket answers filed-case questions; GDC, BOP, and ICE answer custody after transfer.
Thomas County Jail Facilities
The adult roster belongs to Thomas County Jail. The county also has a DJJ youth detention center, but that facility should not be searched like an adult jail. The closed Thomas County Prison is an archival result only and should not be used for current custody.

Booking Process in Thomas County
Thomas County does not publish a full booking manual, but the jail pages show local intake steps. A new adult arrest can come from the sheriff's office, Thomasville Police, Boston Police, Georgia State Patrol, or another agency. If local adult custody is required, the person is taken to Thomas County Jail. Booking creates a jail record with a booking number, date and time, charges or holds, property, cash-account handling, and identifying data. The roster may then publish the entry after the vendor system updates.
The JailATM page says cash on an inmate at booking is deposited into the booking kiosk and automatically posted to the inmate account. The inmate-property page says items booked into the jail stay in the secure property room until release, and evidence property is handled through the arresting officer or investigator. If a person is sent to prison or a program, the inmate may sign a property release form for one person to pick up property.
For warrantless arrests, Georgia law requires a person to be taken before a judicial officer within 48 hours or released. After that first court step, the Clerk docket is the better place to track filed cases and charge status. For the court side after custody, use Thomas County court records after jail arrest.
Bond Details in Thomas County Records
Bond values on the roster are practical clues, not a final release promise. The sheriff's bond page defines a bail bond as a written promise to appear in court, signed by the defendant and surety. Thomas County supports cash bonds, professional bonding company bonds, property bonds, and transfer bonds. The sheriff's page says exact cash and government picture ID are required for cash bonds, property owners must be present for property bonds, and transfer bonds must arrive sealed from the jurisdiction where the property is located.
| Item | Amount or Rule |
|---|---|
| Bond processing fee | $20 non-refundable fee on all bonds |
| Professional bonding fee | 15 percent authorized by law |
| Property bond form | $20 for each property bond form prepared by TCSO |
| Cash bond | Exact cash only, with government-issued picture ID |
A hold can block release even when a local bond amount is paid. The roster examples included ICE and other-county holds, which require separate resolution with the holding agency.

Clothing rules are strict, and visits can be ended for disruptive behavior or canceled without notice.

The sheriff's visitation page publishes the unit schedule, ID rules, contraband rules, and dress code.
The visitation screenshot is useful because the roster does not show housing in the captured profile, yet visit times depend on the assigned unit.
